Please note that all communications with the Township’s public officials and staff are presumptively subject to public access under the Right-to-Know Law.

The Pennsylvania Second Class Township Code requires the election of a 3-member Board of Auditors, each serving 6-year terms. The primary function of the Board of Auditors is to set compensation for the current year's township supervisors employed by the township in staff positions.

The Elected Board of Auditors meets annually, on the day immediately following the Board of Supervisors Reorganization meeting. At this meeting, they must elect a Chair and Secretary, and set compensation for any supervisor who is appointed by the Board of Supervisors to an employee position, if any.

New Hanover Township contracts with an independent certified public accounting firm to provide an annual audit of the Township’s financial statements in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards. The duties of the Board of Elected Auditors is, therefore, limited to setting compensation for working supervisors per Second Class Township Code.
