The Police Department is now using a service called Crashdocs (Powered by Carfax) which serves as a central hub for obtaining accident reports and allows citizens to access accident reports without the need to contact Township personnel for report copies. This service offers convenience to those who have experienced accidents within the Township by providing 24/7 access to the accident information and at the same fee that it would have cost to have previously obtained a report through the Township.
In addition, Carfax extends various investigative tools and offers complimentary training sessions to the Police Department. These resources encompass unlimited Carfax reports, partial license plate searches, 24/7 VIN monitoring, interagency collaboration, and a mobile app. These invaluable tools significantly enhance the department's ability to investigate crimes related to vehicle fraud, VIN alteration, stolen vehicles, and incidents involving partial license plate information, among others.
